The
Finance Department is responsible for overseeing all financial
aspects of the Town, Municipal Utility Districts and Economic
Development Corporations. Finance is responsible for all banking
and investment transactions, generating and overseeing the
budget, monitoring all purchasing decisions, accounts receivable,
accounts payable, and payroll. The Director also works closely
with our financial advisors when issuing or refinancing bonded
indebtedness to insure the best possible bond rating for all
the Municipal entities.
With
a staff of four employees, Finance monitors and tracks over
two thousand lines of budget and twenty-nine bank accounts
and works closely with all department heads to ensure that
municipal funds are spent in an efficient and fiducially responsible
manner.
The
Town was recently upgraded to a "A2" bond rating selling insured
as "Aaa", enabling the Town to sell debt at the lowest possible
interest rate.
