The Fall Texas Motor Speedway NASCAR races are coming this weekend! The dates of the race are Thursday, October 31 to Sunday, November 03. These races will result in altered traffic patterns do to the influx of over 100,000 race fans. Please plan ahead and if at all possible AVOID THE INTERSECTION of Highway 114 and IH-35W due to the increased traffic congestion. All times listed below are APPROXIMATIONS and are NOT exact. Please note that the EXIT to Tanger Outlet Malls that is on IH-35W southbound may be closed at various times due to traffic flow and congestion.
Residents who reside west of IH-35W. The best course of action is to travel west on Highway 114 as an alternate route.
Residents who reside east of IH-35W. The best course of action is to utilize Litsey Road to access other roads to the east.
Thursday, October 31, 2019 - no actual races but qualifying. This means traffic congestion will increase from normal traffic patterns.
Friday, November 01, 2019 - Truck Race. This will mean traffic congestion will be HEAVY from 1600 hours or 4 pm to midnight.
Saturday, November 02, 2019 - O'Reilly Auto Parts 300. This will mean traffic will be VERY HEAVY and there could be some altering of road routes from 0800 hours or 8 am until about 2200 hours or 10 pm. There will be periods of time when there are lulls in the traffic volume. These should occur from 1230 until about 1530 or 330 pm and from 1830 or 630 pm until 2000 hours or 8pm.
Sunday, November 03, 2019 - NASCAR Race AAA Texas 500. This will mean traffic congestion will be EXTREMELY HEAVY and there could be some altering of road routes from 0800 hours or 8 am until about 2100 hours or 9 pm. There will be periods of time when there are lulls in the traffic volume. These should occur from 1430 or 230 pm until about 1730 or 530 pm. Traffic congestion should taper off at approximately 2100 hours and return to normal.
